NEW VISUAL IDENTITY FOR THE INTERNATIONAL
FESTIVAL OF ANIMATED FILM (FICTIONAL EXERCISE)

This project is a fictitious assignment to develop a new image
for an event. We chose the ITFS event in Stuttgart for this purpose.

The International Festival of Animated Film in Stuttgart has been the largest festival for animated films since 1982. The ITFS is organized by the Stuttgarter Film- und Medienfestival GmBH and has been held annually since 2005. From classic cartoons and artistic animated films to 3D computer-animated feature films, everything is included. However, the competitions take center stage, including a competition for students.

For the implementation, the event was first researched and the visual communication was
analyzed. Based on this, new and different design approaches were developed, initially focusing
on the basic design elements. Other parameters such as color and imagery were then included.

As the project progressed, possible combinations of the individual components were investigated, leading to the development of a standardized system tested in various adaptation options.

The primary learning objective of this task was to gain experience in dealing with the design elements that make up an image. In addition to the word or figurative mark, these include color, typography, form, and visual language.
