The main theme of the exhibition was centered around forests. We chose to focus specifically on the topic of "forest fires." After considering multiple ideas, we ultimately decided to create a three-dimensional data visualization using a wooden map of Germany that was turned into a table.
The areas of the map colored orange represent the burned areas, while the small sticks represent natural and unnatural causes of the fires. We used neon orange paint to mark the unnatural causes and lightly charred the natural causes using a lighter. All the data was
sourced from reliable statistics and converted to a uniform scale.
To provide more information about the topic, there are information cards available on the
edge of the map. Overall, the exhibit allows visitors to easily access and compare information about forest fires in Germany.
